LOs: Little Red Scrapbook

Some new LO's i just finished up a few weeks ago but didn't post until now.

Again my style is still really sparse at the moment.


Ahh Thomas. I was playing around with a challenge/scraplift out of my Ali Edwards book and this is what came out. I kind of like it.


My AP Calc class. I was one of three juniors.
Again things are really sparse. I mean look at this with just the strips?


So this is from when I walked in a pro-life parade. I know, seriously me. But it was high school and I didn't know any better. The LO is actually about changing your mind, changing your world, and really make a decision about how you feel about something.

LOs: Scrap Pink

I got a good number of LOs done at ScrapPink in Miami with Amy and Julia. Including the Commit2Paper October kit LOs I finished a few others. I really had a great time digging through some of the stuff in my stash, using some of the things I've collected for a while.

My favorite project of the weekend was my fantastic mini book I made for hubs-to-be. He's got quite the collection of them so far. This one is one of my favorites though.




I love this LO of my friend Kinan and I. It was so much fun to make too. I love the stacked journaling block and the stickles on the rub on at the top.
Little brother and I have so much fun!! I love the way this LO came out even with the photos that don't match, but really this is just so much us.
This LO is so much fun!! I love scrapping BAG from my visit to LA. These photos are fantastic in person and the cardstock is blingy which makes it even more fun with the cut out rockstar-esque paper. The "awesome" is sparkly.
I love this LO! also on the sparkley CS and full of my favorite Basic Grey line, LilyKate. That's mom and I on my 16th birthday. I really just love how it came out. It will go directly into a page protector as is, even though with the scalloped edges it's not 12x12.
A little bit more detail which just shows the chipboard flowers i covered with chalk ink. Pink first then after that dried lightly with the white.

LOs: LRS

I started working with my photos from Camp Kudzu and found that some of my more neglected LRS kits that needed attention worked perfectly. In addition I made on of my first two page LOs in ages. I seem to have completely strayed from that style of LO.


I love this shot of my friend Kinan so much I used it twice! The larger photo is 5x7 and the smaller just the basic 4x6. I love the feel it gives the picture. Next is to do the same thing with one photos in black and white.

some detail of the "Sing" page. The journaling goes around the entire center portion of the LO.



The chipboard trees from this kit are perfect with the photos from the ropes course at camp.

The CK stands for Camp Kudzu obviously. I loved dressing up this little tag for an added accent.

I think is is my favorite LO of the bunch. The photos blend so beautifully with the paper it's breathtaking.

All LOs were done with LRS kits from the past few months.

Home at last

I'm torn between being completely excited that I'm home and depressed because I really didn't want to leave.

I don't have pictures yet to share, but I'm hoping to get them loaded up to flickr this evening. I managed to get a few on Myspace, but you don't have to look at that (and you can't if you don't have an account). Check flickr tonight, or tomorrow morning, and expect a blog post later this week (tonight if I'm really moving). It was really a beautiful trip, the pictures don't even scrape the surface.

The July C2P kit is absolutely lovely! I did get to play with it briefly before I left, working on a card for a subscriber who just had a baby boy! Between the new kit and having an excuse to use my Cuttlebug airplane die, I was in scrapbooking heaven. I'm hoping to jump more into C2P and the newest LRS kit later this week (by Thursday at the latest). I've still got a bunch of cards I need to finish up for a swap, but perhaps that will help me put the kits to good use. I'm also hoping to have my St. Thomas pictures by Thursday to start scrapping those as well.

Plus, I'm seriously considering trying my hand at this.

Things to share + June C2P

I had a fantastic time visiting Amy of Commit2Paper this weekend. As I've said before I'm amazed at what the internet has brought me in my life. I've always felt like I've made great online buddies, but the relationships rarely translate to real life. The fact that Amy and work so well in person blows my mind.

It was a fun trip and on top of being a ton of fun it was completely productive. I got my hands on the June C2P kit, and I'm in love with it. I knew what line the stuff was coming from because Amy needed a second opinion about some stuff, but I'm not kidding, I was totally blown away by it once I had it in my hands. I've already cranked out my minimum number of projects for the Inspiration Squad, but I've got ideas for at least two more pages using this kit. One will require a photo shoot, which hopefully I can do this week. I love when the ideas just bubble out.

The first two LOs are done with the C2P June kit. Isn't it just awesome? so much fun to play with.

These two LOs are older. Proof that I did do a little scrapping in the past few weeks but I've been too busy to post them. The first uses mainly American Crafts PP and cardstock. Added in is another envelope from the Linda Bernson Kit of the Month I grabbed a while back.
This LO uses the LRS kit from April (I think). It's all Prima papers and the shots are from seeing the Bunnys from The Girls Next Door and Hugh himself in Vegas. Quite the celebrity siting. I love the way it came together. The inspiration came from one of the Becky Higgins sketches from CK mag, but I ended up varying it quite a bit (this seems to be the case with me and lifts or sketches).

I also finished up the mini book I mentioned earlier that I wanted to work on for Champ. Currently the shots are up on my Flickr page if you can't wait for me to do an actual post (which hopefully I will be able to post either tonight or tomorrow). There's some great shots up on the page from our Memorial Day cook out and the baseball games we went to this past week/weekend if you want to check those out as well. I don't want you to get bogged down with a post with a thousand pictures, so I'll spread them out.

Also, head over to Erin's blog, Design for Mankind, because the latest issue of her Inspiration Ezine is up! I haven't had a chance to read through it yet, but I'm sure it is as stunning as always.

Kit Versatility

Three totally different projects, all from the same kit. I'm amazed. It was fun scrapping Junior Prom. I hadn't looked through those pictures in a while because I really don't like the guy I went with anymore. I had originally planned for the LOs to be in the opposite order than how they show now, but I didn't realize I had it flipped until after I photographed them. Looking at the pictures afterward, I realized that it didn't matter.


The second LO is my current "favorite" LO. I really like the way it came out and I like the photo strip I managed to put together in Photoshop. I don't use Photoshop much because a) I'm not very good with it and b) it's on the desktop not the laptop, but I did have fun with this. I might have to branch out just a little bit. There's a glaring error on the page but I'm trying to not let it bother me. And the photo is my hands while I was wrapping them for kickboxing. I set the camera on a timer and set it on the floor while I wrapped up my hands.


The last is a simple mother's day card I made up for my bud Nathan for him to give to his mom for Mother's Day. Simple as it may be, because there is so much to the patterned paper I think it really came together. I felt any additional embellishments would have made it look too busy.


I've about worn the C2P May kit completely out. I'm hoping to make a dent on the LRS kit this week, but I've got a few things in mind that might take away from scrapping. A friend from the gym clued me in to a used book store about 20 minutes from my place which I want to check out and I still have to squeeze in four visits to the gym (two down so far this week) and finish up shopping for Mother's Day and Mom's Graduation before I head home for both events.

More LOs!

I got some more fun LOs done using the C2P April kit (what a busy weekend!) and finished up what might now be my current favorite LO.

I thought the kit colors would look great with some of my shots from Mexico and lo and behold, tada!!




I'm still working on getting these letters from my Girl Scout friends transfered over. They are so cute!


This is my new favorite. Love playing with the larger picture, love playing with the goodies from my Lisa Bearnson Kit of the Month, love fun pictures of little brother.

C2P LOs plus one more

OH the fun. I got my Commit2Paper kit a little while ago and was able to squeeze some time in to get some good scrapping done. The kit is fantastic, full of fun things to play with. I tried some new techniques on these pages, more cutting things out and using different layering styles that I'm not used to. I even added some ribbon to a page, even though I'm not a huge ribbon fan.

The first two are from a book my Girl Scout troop gave me when I moved in fifth grade. All the girls wrote me a letter and included a picture of themselves and the leader put it all in one album. The album though is one of those gross magnetic albums, so I decided to get all the things out of it in order to preserve the pages.

Another one of the letters. I liked the layered look of the flowers. I had a good time looking at this book because all my friends are so grown up now. I know that Allison here is married and then another girl (who's page I'm not to yet) has a kid. It's crazy how fast time flies.
This one is for a swap. I haven't printed out the pictures yet which is why it doesn't have a picture. I love the way this page came out. The ribbon at the top (which I got as a RAK from Joyce!) pulls out a tag with the journaling on it. Hopefully she'll love it.
And finally one just for fun that isn't C2P. I just love the way it came out. Thanks for looking!! I hope to get some more fun stuff done soon to share again. I have a great page in work of my brother and I goofing around on the cruise.

good news = sticky situation

So it would seem ScrapGoods is back in business. This is a good thing. I really like the kits and the new technique each month. But I'm a big fan of Little Red Scrapbook (which I started getting in December after ScrapGoods announced that they might not come back after a January hiatus). Plus I wanted to try out a few others (like the Story of My Life kits--which I might still get an old one or two after pay day--and the It Kit). Supposedly though for Feb they are just doing an expansion kit for December's kit. which is cool enough. i like the stitching technique. I can do an alternating month in expense kit, but I really can't go full throttle with two. I mean I can but I won't get to buy anything else fun or for scrapbooking. We'll see. I've got to dig into the LRS kit a little bit more. With the moving I've actually only been able to get my hands on the December kit from ScrapGoods (LRS December got packed somewhere. I plan on finding it by this weekend to scrap some of the stuff from the Little Mermaid). I'm just not sure where to go. Especially when LRS runs up at the end of 3 months or when Scrapgoods runs up (I think I've got three more months of that).

Things are looking good for my trip to visit Amy though. I'm quite excited about meeting her. Now if I could just nail down details about meeting Lara I'll be doing great. haha.
