C2P hype!

I'm getting really really stoked about Commit2Paper's first kit this month!! I've forgone this month's ScrapGoods kit because I just can't give up LRS at all (I'm in deep love with the March kit. I've only had time to make one layout with it so far, but I love it).

And if I can read my email right, I'm going to be the first to get her kit (mine is being used as a dry run for shipping costs I think) which totally makes me all giggly.

Goals for the week:

1. Get the proposed message board up and running. Also look into what it would take to get a C2P board up and running as well.
2. Mail LOs from trading pages swap.
3. Figure out what kind of swap to get running via the blog(s)--suggestions are welcome!

Pictures from the cruise are up on my flickr site. Just in case you wanted to check them out.

I know I've mentioned Design for Mankind before, but make sure you keep an eye out there. I submitted my stuff for the next Ezine, so here's hoping.

I love that I'm getting back into the creative swing of things. I've been writing a lot more recently and having scrapped a few pages, makes me want to get back into the groove of scrapping a lot more often. I'm hurting with taking photos and my 365 challenge has suffered (I've been very slow about updating my flickr as well, so that looks like i straight up quit, but I haven't).

I'm hoping I can get some inspiration today while I'm hanging out at the Camp Kudzu office offering up my free time to do some good in the world.

Kudzu is the summer camp I work at for kids with Type 1 diabetes. I love it so much. I've been in a camp mindset recently because this week on American Idol one of the contestants dedicated his performance to a friend of camp who passed away suddenly this fall. I'm actually pretty against AI, but it was a really cool thing to see. The local news interview his brother about his reaction to the dedication and I was pretty touched by the whole process. There are some good people left in the world.

Oops

Totally forgot that posting the link to Commit2Paper might help. Sorry about that!!

Home sweet home!

Hey all!

I'm home from the cruise bearing quite the sunburn (oops) which is finally starting to fade and have a ton of pictures that need to be sorted and posted. Soon I promise. I've also been scrapping today which means I might even have pages to be posted soon.

For those of you who haven't figured it out yet, Amy asked me to join the Inspiration Squad over at Commit2Paper. This is possibly the coolest thing that has ever happened to me. Seriously. But if you're looking for a new kit...This would be the one. And I swear I'm not biased or anything. Ok maybe just a little.

We've had some crazy weather around Atlanta the past few days (tornadoes in the city!) and it's def made things a little nerve wracking. Thankfully not a lot of people were hurt in the storms (as far as I know, the first night was a shock, but the second night the city was more prepared). Even better today was gorgeous. Champ and I walked to the local pizza place and had a nice lunch outside. It would seem spring is coming! (the tornadoes mean that too right?)

This week will be tons of fun celebrating Champ's birthday! (he's turning 25!)

An FYI

Just letting ya'll know that I'm going to be out of town Monday - Friday this week. So don't expect much of an update until then. I'm going on a cruise with my family (mom, dad, and Josh), so I expect to come back with some fantastic pictures.

Hope everyone has a great week!

(also! big news coming up probably upon my arrival back home...be ready for it!)

New Computer + Some pages

It's here!! My fancy MacBook Pro is back in business. After the business with the first computer's speakers not working (is that my punishment for buying a refurbed computer?) I ended up getting them to send me a new one. I hate being that customer, but sometimes you have to stand your ground a little.

Either way it showed up this afternoon and thus not much in the way of scrapping got done, except some additions to a page I'm making for the trading pages swap for Angela. I don't like it really, but I hope after I jazz it up a little more I'll like it and not feel bad about sending it to her. I still have to do Erin's pictures as well and get started on the Perception Swap. Gah behind.

But here's some new stuff!

Each of these was for a challenge of some sort. The first was for the Feb kit Telephone Scraplift (start with one LO and then the next person lifts it and the next person lifts theirs etc). My page ended up looking nothing like the original. I like it though. Very...sandy. The second was a LO for a swap kit. You get all the pieces, then make a LO using all of them. I love the way it came out, very bohemian which isn't my usual style. Still it's nice.

A few frustrations...

I desperately owe an update with some of my scrapping and some of my 365 day pix (and I want to update the header), but flickr is not cooperating at work tonight. I guess I'll have to actually do my uploading at home.

The new computer has been shipped, but the tracking number isn't registering on FedEx's site, so I'm not sure how long it will take for it to get here. I'm hoping they overnight it, but I'm imagining it will come on the slow truck like it did last time. (For those you who don't know, I got a refurbed macbook pro last week and the speakers stopped working. After some deliberations with the people at Apple, I managed to get myself a new one and return the one I had.) I'm eager to get going on that, figure out how to use iPhoto a little bit more, and then eventually upgrading to getting PhotoShop. Well at least Elements. Perhaps the Design Studio for my Cricut as well. But not having the computer yet is frustrating.

I'm hitting a final wall with ScrapGoods. I've seen spoliers for the kit that is enroute and I didn't get excited. Now looking at the spoilers for Little Red Scrapbook today, I about lost it. So cute. Beautiful colors (colors I want to work with!) and some great stuff. I guess I'll be sad losing the technique aspect of ScrapGoods, but I'm expanding and planning on going to more events and working to just try things on my own. The only aspect of this upcoming kit is that I'm excited for a chance to get my hands on grungeboard. I think I could have a ball with that.

The final decision will be made once I actually get my hands on the kit and dig through it, but I'm expecting a break. Here's hoping I can get my friends from the boards reading the board I'm planning to set up (trying to wait until I get the new computer), so that I don't lose touch with them.
