I was trolling about on my scrapbooking blogs, and found this kit (sadly it's sold out!) It's done by a Noel Mignon, and I believe I've found another kit I want to add to my list of wants and desires. Look at all the fun little bits! Especially the vintage twinge!!

Home sweet home!

Hey all!

I'm home from the cruise bearing quite the sunburn (oops) which is finally starting to fade and have a ton of pictures that need to be sorted and posted. Soon I promise. I've also been scrapping today which means I might even have pages to be posted soon.

For those of you who haven't figured it out yet, Amy asked me to join the Inspiration Squad over at Commit2Paper. This is possibly the coolest thing that has ever happened to me. Seriously. But if you're looking for a new kit...This would be the one. And I swear I'm not biased or anything. Ok maybe just a little.

We've had some crazy weather around Atlanta the past few days (tornadoes in the city!) and it's def made things a little nerve wracking. Thankfully not a lot of people were hurt in the storms (as far as I know, the first night was a shock, but the second night the city was more prepared). Even better today was gorgeous. Champ and I walked to the local pizza place and had a nice lunch outside. It would seem spring is coming! (the tornadoes mean that too right?)

This week will be tons of fun celebrating Champ's birthday! (he's turning 25!)

A few frustrations...

I desperately owe an update with some of my scrapping and some of my 365 day pix (and I want to update the header), but flickr is not cooperating at work tonight. I guess I'll have to actually do my uploading at home.

The new computer has been shipped, but the tracking number isn't registering on FedEx's site, so I'm not sure how long it will take for it to get here. I'm hoping they overnight it, but I'm imagining it will come on the slow truck like it did last time. (For those you who don't know, I got a refurbed macbook pro last week and the speakers stopped working. After some deliberations with the people at Apple, I managed to get myself a new one and return the one I had.) I'm eager to get going on that, figure out how to use iPhoto a little bit more, and then eventually upgrading to getting PhotoShop. Well at least Elements. Perhaps the Design Studio for my Cricut as well. But not having the computer yet is frustrating.

I'm hitting a final wall with ScrapGoods. I've seen spoliers for the kit that is enroute and I didn't get excited. Now looking at the spoilers for Little Red Scrapbook today, I about lost it. So cute. Beautiful colors (colors I want to work with!) and some great stuff. I guess I'll be sad losing the technique aspect of ScrapGoods, but I'm expanding and planning on going to more events and working to just try things on my own. The only aspect of this upcoming kit is that I'm excited for a chance to get my hands on grungeboard. I think I could have a ball with that.

The final decision will be made once I actually get my hands on the kit and dig through it, but I'm expecting a break. Here's hoping I can get my friends from the boards reading the board I'm planning to set up (trying to wait until I get the new computer), so that I don't lose touch with them.

kit clubs

So most of you know I'm already getting two kits every month: Little Red Scrapbook and ScrapGoods. I'm adoring LRS. The kits are fully of papers that I wouldn't even consider buy sometimes, but then there's always a few pages where I'm like, "yes i would buy this on my own". The pieces go together nicely, the colors are usually pretty vibrant the material choices lend to different styles (you can make it more modern, or bohemian, or traditional, depending on how you use it, what you add to it--although you don't usually need to add too much to it.).

There have been some problems with SG though. They recently changed the kit style with a smaller kit every other month. This doesn't usually bother me, because I've looked at The It kit, which is the same premise. But I feel like you get more out of the small months with TIK. When I got my Feb kit from SG, it was somewhat of a disappointment.

Another problem that's come up has nothing to do with the kit itself. There have been some...issues (for lack of a better word) on the message boards with some unhappy women who feel the need to start things when they aren't the center of attention. I feel personally that they are a lot of talk. I enjoy that they boast that they are the same on the boards as they are in real life (impossible), but that people want to meet them and then are offended by outright they are. Perhaps I'm old fashion and too Southern, but I'm blunt person, but I also have tact. That's an important trait. With tact you can say whatever you like and get away with it. Honestly though I've never had a desire to meet either person. What's worse is the way they like to attack people. I hate that. I was attacked a lot as a young person, and I've come a long way. I've learned how to be terribly charismatic. I hate seeing people like that hurt people, like those other girls hurt me. It's just...wrong.

So I'm going to get my March kit, but another move might be in the works. The new kit layout seems to run the risk of costing me more than I would normally like to pay anyway. Ideas for a move (while keeping LRS): Story of My Life, Cocoa Daisy, Cupcake Scrapshop, and the Jenni Bowlin kit. I've got one of the older SomL kits already, but I haven't had a chance to crack into it yet. That one will probably win out because I love how unique it is.

I know some of you were asking, we'd love to see you getting LRS with us (Amy and I get it and one of our friends through the LJ scrapbooking community). I'm curious about starting my own message board (seeing what it would take to run that, mod that) and getting my friends from my other sites all together on one. Not tie it to one kit, let people have whatever they want. Get everyone on flickr and post to a group gallery...hmm. Who'd be interested?

good news = sticky situation

So it would seem ScrapGoods is back in business. This is a good thing. I really like the kits and the new technique each month. But I'm a big fan of Little Red Scrapbook (which I started getting in December after ScrapGoods announced that they might not come back after a January hiatus). Plus I wanted to try out a few others (like the Story of My Life kits--which I might still get an old one or two after pay day--and the It Kit). Supposedly though for Feb they are just doing an expansion kit for December's kit. which is cool enough. i like the stitching technique. I can do an alternating month in expense kit, but I really can't go full throttle with two. I mean I can but I won't get to buy anything else fun or for scrapbooking. We'll see. I've got to dig into the LRS kit a little bit more. With the moving I've actually only been able to get my hands on the December kit from ScrapGoods (LRS December got packed somewhere. I plan on finding it by this weekend to scrap some of the stuff from the Little Mermaid). I'm just not sure where to go. Especially when LRS runs up at the end of 3 months or when Scrapgoods runs up (I think I've got three more months of that).

Things are looking good for my trip to visit Amy though. I'm quite excited about meeting her. Now if I could just nail down details about meeting Lara I'll be doing great. haha.
